Together with our customer, a large importer of bulk feed, we came to the conclusion that the current logistic concept was not longer sufficient.
Due to ups and downs in the market, transportcapicity was not longer guaranteed. That made that all the links in the supply chain where confronted again and again with challenges on the areas planning and costmangement. Consequence was that the customer needs and available capacity where no longer tailored on each other.
Dedicated rail connection
Together with our customer we started in the second quarter of 2010 with the development of a logistic concept based on a dedicated railconnection. Instead of transporting the volume by road, now twice a week a train is underway with dedicated containers.
For all parties we created a winning situation:
Reliability towards customers has improved;
Understandability in the delivery-planning has increased;
Emission of CO2/ton has devreased strongly, a large contribution to the environment
Through the above concept the foundation for managing further growth has been established.
